Day 5 – Reassembly & Final Reveal: From Old Brown to Bright White Brilliance

After four full days of meticulous prep, precision spraying, and pro-level technique, we’ve reached the best part of any kitchen cabinet refinishing project: Day 5 — Reassembly & Final Reveal.

This is when the paint guns are quiet, the tape comes down, and the kitchen transforms from a job site to a showpiece.

Step 1: Cabinet Door Reinstallation

We started the day with a full reinstallation of all doors, drawer fronts, and hardware:

  • Using our pre-labeled and mapped system (from Day 2), each piece was returned to its original spot — no guesswork, no gaps.

  • New soft-close hinges were added, and all were tested for smooth, level closing.

  • Handle holes, pre-measured and drilled before painting, aligned perfectly with the new hardware.

  • Every door gap and drawer reveal was adjusted until it passed our final checklist for symmetry and alignment.

We treat reinstallation like cabinet-makers, not just painters. Because it’s not done until it’s done right.

Step 2: Full Site Cleanup & Detailing

After the cabinets went back on, it was time to erase all signs of the project — except the gorgeous results.

Our cleanup checklist included:

  • Carefully removing all masking, zip walls, floor protection, and tape (no peeling off drywall or damaging surfaces — ever).

  • Vacuuming and wiping down the entire area with microfiber cloths.

  • Polishing hardware and cabinet surfaces to a clean, dust-free sheen.

We even checked light switches, appliances, and countertops for overspray or fine dust. A proper paint job ends with a clean home.

The Final Reveal: A Kitchen Transformed

Before: Heavy, dark-brown cabinets that made the space feel closed-in and dated.
After: A bright, timeless white kitchen that feels bigger, lighter, and brand new.

The client’s reaction?

“I still can’t believe these are the same cabinets. It looks like we replaced everything — but it was done in five days!”

That’s the beauty of a spray-painted cabinet transformation done right: new-kitchen impact without the new-kitchen price tag.

Pro Finishing Touches

Before wrapping up, we ran our final quality control pass:

  • Tested every hinge and drawer

  • Checked for any micro chips or scuffs — touched up instantly

  • Gave our client a care and maintenance guide for long-term results (e.g., no harsh cleaners, wait 10 days before deep wiping)

We even left a matching touch-up bottle of the finish paint for future nicks or moves. Not that they’ll need it.
